Having a child that seems advanced in any way seems like a blessing. You are so proud of their ability to catch onto things so quickly and are amazed on a daily basis by the new things that they can read and pick up on. You might even think that they are a little mature for their age.
Until they read the back of the toothpaste tube and come sobbing to you because they swallowed toothpaste. And it says, right there on the back, if you swallow more than a pea sized amount that you should contact medical services or poison control. And they think that they swallowed a whole mouthful and now they are terrified that they are going to get violently ill unless you DO contact poison control or a doctor.
I never knew how hard it would be to talk a six year old down from possible toothpaste poisoning. It would probably be a lot easier if they just couldn't have read it!
